Every summer Kate Messner hosts her impressive Teachers Write, a free virtual summer writing camp for teachers and librarians.

The summer camp kicked off yesterday, but it’s not too late to join. If you’re looking for a no-pressure, fun way to jump start your writing and creative juices, a highly recommend dipping your toes in the waters.

One of my favorite parts of the program is the Tuesday Quick Write, and if you click that link, you’ll see that this week’s writing prompt is from ME.

Woo-Hoo!

I hope you check out the summer camp and take the time to read some of the comments. Yes, this is one place where it’s actually safe to read the comments. Seeing what other educators have to say about their writing is informative and exciting.

See you at camp!

P.S. The cover image for today’s blog is of Kate Messner’s new picture book How to Read a Story. If you’re looking for an excellent, start-of-school read aloud for a kindergarten or first grade class, look no further!
