2010 IS ALL ABOUT THE FINAL CHAPTERS OF...

April/May 2010

Hey All...

These next few week are going to be crazy busy, but I am sure looking forward to it. What a spring this is going to be!

Of course, I'm going to be out there spreading the good word about "The Hallelujah Flight," my latest picture book. John Holyfield's illustrations are absolutely extraordinary, and the reviews have been fantastic. I do hope you get to check it out. I'm very proud of this book. And that music you hear on the page (if you clicked the link) was created by Max Gude, an amazing 15 year-old musician.

This spring also marks the exciting conclusion to my Sluggers series. Earlier this year, Book #5 "Blastin' the Blues" stepped to the plate, and now, at long last, Book #6"Home of the Brave" is up to bat. You won't believe what happens to Griffith, Ruby, Graham, and the evil Chancellor!

May is filled with library and school visits throughout New York City, Northern New Jersery, Austin, Brooklyn and the Dallas area. I'm going to be doing many author visits and Writing Camps.

Now for something NOT about my books:

Recently, I founded The NOLA Tree, a non-profit organization that brings young volunteers to New Orleans and around the nation to assist with a number of community development efforts. Check out the The NOLA Tree Facebook Fan Page to learn all about it. We're looking for people to get involved, and of course, we're also looking for super-generous donors (hint, hint). We already took an amazing trip to New Orleans earlier in the spring, and this summer, we have three more volunteer efforts planned in the Crescent City.

For all the latest on everything else going on, please click on over to my NEWS page.

Peace

Phil
